Making honest wines
ALL ARC WINES ARE HANDMADE FROM ORGANICALLY FARMED GRAPES BY US IN BAW BAW SHIRE, WEST GIPPSLAND. OUR APPROACH IS; HANDS ON IN THE VINES AND HANDS OFF IN THE CELLAR, LETTING THE FRUIT EXPRESS ITSELF IN EVERY GLASS.
ABOUT US
A.R.C or A Random Collection was founded in 2017 after musings and dreams from a previous life working restaurant floors. The vision of working the land, being in touch with nature and living within our means came to life a few years ago after we made the leap from our lives in Sydney and ended up with our very own permaculture farm in West Gippsland, Victoria.
We firmly believe in ethical farming practices and after a few years of sourcing fruit from around Australia we made the jump to farming, taking the lease on 4ha of vineyard in Warragul South, Gippsland. This amazing site is perched between the foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges to the south and Mount Baw Baw to the north. Its rich red volcanic soils produce wines of elegance, poise and character. We are delighted to see A.R.C evolve as we continue to understand and learn from this magical site.
On site we also lease a small winery shed where all ARC wines are made. Our work in the cellar is hands off, preferring not to manipulate the wines and rather let them express their fruit, site and journey. Our wines are fermented in a mixture of Amphora, large format wooden barrels and tank. We use only native yeasts and make no additions other than sulphur in the wines if needed.
Our goal is to always allow the fruit to shine and the site to be visible in the end wine.

The ideals of organic farming is what drew us to the country [Gippsland] from our previous Sydney city lives. Having enjoyed organic and natural wines we wanted to do the sector proud and not only make wine but also farm the grapes. After several years buying fruit we are so proud to grow all our grapes for ARC, managing over 4ha of vines on Gunaikurnai land organically without the use of systemic herbicides and pesticides .
We aim to nurture our leased sites with the goal to hand them over in a better state than when we started, for the next custodians of this fertile land.
